At Glendale Primary School we provide students with essential mathematical skills and knowledge in Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. In teaching the Mathematics learning area we aim to ensure that our students are confident and creative users of mathematics who are able to investigate and interpret real life problems. In implementing the content of the WA curriculum, we strive to promote understanding of mathematical concepts enabling students to pose questions and recognise connections between the areas of mathematics and other learning areas.
In 2017 the Mathematics committee reviewed the Mathematics plan and introduced a common way to teach Mathematics blocks. Students engage in Mathematics blocks for a minimum of 60 minutes a day over 4 days a week.
