At Glendale Primary School we have a structures and co-ordinated approach to teaching literacy where quality assessment drives the learning. In the early years there is a focus on explicit teaching of phonics through the Letters and Sounds program.
The timetable is structured to include literacy blocks and English as a general capability is purposefully connected to all other learning areas.
At our school we encourage a love of language and students are taught in a positive learning environment. Students who require additional support have access to one to one MULTILIT, MINILIT or small group MACQLIT sessions that are run by trained staff.
At Glendale Primary School we provide relevant and targeted on going professional learning to staff in the area of English to ensure quality programs connected to the West Australian curriculum.
