Technologies comprises both Digital and Design technologies. This is a new curriculum area in 2017 and at Glendale it provides students with authentic learning challenges that foster curiosity, confidence, persistence, innovation, creativity and cooperation. We are encouraging our students to ‘create solutions’ and use critical and creative thinking to develop solutions to complex challenges.

During 2017 we have connected the Technologies curriculum to Science and Maths and trialled STEM units that require the students to use the knowledge and understanding of those subjects to solve real world problems.

In term 1 a group of year 5/6 students worked with the Young Engineers to solve the problem of battery recycling. The clip below shows the students investigating vibrations.
