At Glendale Primary School we offer an innovative Specialist Science Program with a highly experienced, passionate and skilled, Level 3 Classroom Teacher. Students are guided, using the gradual release model, through the Scientific Investigation process with a hands on approach through an engaging program, designed to encourage curiosity about the world around them.
All students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 are exposed to a wide range of science experiences in a well-resourced, purpose built science room, for an allocated time each week. Organised incursions and excursions with local organisations help provide unique learning opportunities that further enhance the learning experience.
Annually, all students are exposed to lessons relating to the environment and sustainability. Senior students are an integral part of the success of our recycling program and Nude Food Lunches which are held on a weekly basis. In the long term, we hope to develop in our students the skills, knowledge, values and motivation required to think critically about resource consumption and waste production and discover how their own choices can help Western Australia to use its resources more wisely.
