PD Day Term 3

Our planned Professional Development Day will occur next term on Friday 7 September. On this day we are working on a Visioning Day for our staff and interested Board, P&C and Parents. Brendan Spillane will conduct this day and as soon as it is confirmed we will publish the agenda so that community members interested in being involved can attend for the relevant sessions.

Therefore please be aware students will return on Monday 16 July to commence the term and the PD day for Term 3 will be in week 8, Friday 7 September.

Semester 1 Reports

Our students Semester 1 formal reports will be distributed on Tuesday 26 June. These reports will provide you with a summary of performance your child has demonstrated during this semester.

There should be no surprises and if you have any concerns or require further information then I suggest you contact the classroom teacher and or specialist teacher as soon as possible to arrange a meeting.

School reports are a good time to celebrate the effort and progress of our students. If parents can take the time to discuss these results with their children we believe this supports our expectations of trying your best on every occasion.

Community Survey

During Term 3 we will again be conducting our bi annual Community Survey. From the information gathered in our last survey we were able to work on a number of areas. One of which was the effectiveness and ease of use of our school website.

Information we receive via this type of feedback provides valuable direction and clarity to both processes and programs we have in place. When this survey is distributed later in the term, please take the opportunity to complete it to help us to improve our school.

Canteen in Semester 2

At our last P&C meeting, the committee discussed and agreed to reduce the number of days the canteen will be open in Semester 2. From 16 July, the canteen will only be open on Wednesdays and Fridays. The P&C apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but economic factors influence all decisions and running a canteen 3 days per week is no longer viable given the number of students and orders received.

Edu Dance

We have been in discussion with Edudance and have decided that we are unable to accommodate the program into our second semester for 2018.

I understand many students, parents and families enjoy the Edudance experience however due to its large time commitment it is difficult to slot in with the school curriculum requirement. We will look at this fantastic program again in 2019 and attempt to place it into our school calendar.

Finally, I wish to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe semester break. I look forward to seeing all students refreshed and ready to start the new term on Monday 16 July.
