On Wednesday I had the pleasure of going down and watching the Glendale students compete in the Lightning Carnival. It was fantastic to see how well they played and the sportsmanship they displayed throughout the day. All teams did extremely well with the football team winning the shield. The results were:
- Glendale A Division – 2nd overall
- Glendale B Division – 2nd overall
- Glendale A Division – 3rd overall
- Glendale B Division – Received a trophy for all their hard work
Glendale – Champions! Won every game and took home the shield
Thank you to all the Glendale teachers and parents who supported our students on the day. A special thank you to Saul Dransfield, Marian McCrory and Stuart Prance, our wonderful parents who gave their time to coach the teams.
Our open night is on Wednesday 26 June between 6pm to 7pm. We invite all families to have an informal walk through the classrooms and specialist classes. Our school is embarking on our STEM journey as part of the Enterprise STEM project through the Department of Education. At 6pm in the Exploratorium/Engineering room we will be presenting a short presentation on ‘Our Case for Change’ which will include a 3-minute video. I will be available to answer any questions you have about our STEM initiative after the presentation.

A selection of our senior children promoted the joy of reading with the kindy students in an evening event organised by Mrs. Howman. From all accounts this was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all the students that took part. A big thank you to Mrs. Howman for dedicating her time to put together Lamp Lighters and promoting the love of reading in our school.
Winter is upon us and many students are presenting to the office unwell. We have limited facilities to accommodate sick and unwell students at school. The students work in close proximity with others in the class and this is a perfect breeding ground for illness. If your child is unwell please keep them home to recover. Please update contact numbers in the office if they are out of date so we can contact the relevant people if your child presents to the office unwell.
A last minute reminder that the P&C have hired Scitech tonight just for the Glendale community. Tickets are still available at the door from 6pm. Please come and join us for a night of fun and friendship while raising money for our school.
