On Wednesday, the students from year 6 attended the Resources Technology Showcase held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. The students had an amazing time and Mr Marsden was able to capture some of their experiences on camera.
In week 5 the year 4/5 students from Room 10 welcomed Mr Johnson’s year 1 students for a day of learning Bahasa Indonesia. The year 1’s learned how to greet people at different times of the day, count to five, use interactive resources and games for play based learning. The year 4/5 students were impressed by how excited and quickly the year 1’s were at learning Indonesian and look forward to welcoming them back for more games and activities.
On Wednesday 12 June, Glendale students had the opportunity to compete in the 2019 Lightning Carnival.
Halidon, Dalmain, Marangaroo, Hawker Park, Goollelal and Glendale students all met at Kingsway Sporting Centre to engage in Football (AFL), Soccer and Netball. Despite the weather forecast the games began.
Competition was tough between all the schools resulting in some close games.
All games were played with a strong competitive spirit but a genuine focus on the qualities of good sportsmanship. Our AFL team ended the day with a 5 game sweep.
Netball B team also finished the carnival on top of the ladder.
All other teams played strongly throughout the day and everyone involved commented on how great the day was.
We would like to thank the parents and teachers involved in coaching our teams. With a special mention to Mr Marsden for organising the whole day.
